Description

A classic that never sets

In the vast Piedmontese viticulture landscape, Prunotto certainly occupies a very important place. Among the most important brands of Alba, owned by the Marquises Antinori, since 1923 it constantly ensures high quality wines. Wines that are liked and that are able to combine pleasantness and typicality, a combination that is quite ever not easy to grasp. Definitely good, ready and elegant, without neglecting the excellent value for money, the Barolo is confirmed to be one of the most consistent and divined.

Dark garnet in colour with a beautiful transparency, it is noted for the beautiful depth of olfactory quality: ripe cherry and blackberries, sweet violets, chocolate and leather, vanilla, sweet liquorice, coffee and medicinal herbs. On the palate, it is energetic and warm, with dense tannins, good acidity and long woodsy persistence.

With tagliolini with truffles, with mixed boiled meats, with a cut of fassona beef and with braised veal shank.

Light in taste and color
No value for money. This Barolo is a bit disappointing at this price point, even after decanting it for over two hours and having some the following day. Light in taste and color. Lacks power and intensity.
