The wine heritage of a particular area like that of the Murge, is defended and protected also, and above all, by ambitious, productive and family-friendly companies such as Rivera: a beautiful reality that, year after year, generation after generation, has managed to combine research and innovation to the traditional respect of the territory and the enhancement of its most characteristic products. Among the many autochthonous grapes of this beautiful corner of Puglia, we find the Troia grape, also called Nero di Troia (Black of Troia) because of its intense charge of polyphenols and extract which confer to the wine a color so compact to seem black; a grape with very ancient origins, which legend has it that they go back to the Greek hero Diomedes, who came to Puglia after the Trojan war.
Dense and impenetrable ruby red, it releases aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, rosehip, dark spices and mineral accents. Warm tasting, savory and moderately fresh, characterized by vigorous tannins and with fruity persistence on the finish.
With pasta dishes based on lamb sauce, with roasted pork or beef, such as Gulasch and aged cheeses.
