It was 1875 when George Hermann Mumm decided to decorate the bottles of his champagne with the red ribbon of the Legion of Honour (the highest French honour); this move decreed the success of this product, bringing its visibility to the highest levels, so that customers no longer called it simply champagne but Cordon Rouge! This particularity has meant that Mumm's Cordon Rouge has become one of the most appreciated champagnes in the world and the first in France.
Bright golden yellow colour with a fine perlage, it is characterized by clear fruity and citrus aromas, hints of vanilla, honey and brioche bread. It has a good freshness on the palate, is pleasantly fruity and with a fine mineral trail.
Excellent for an aperitif, it goes well with delicate dishes of fish and seafood or white meat but with a piece of Parmigiano Reggiano aged 18 months it will give its best.
