Montepulciano is a beautiful vine that has found in Abruzzo an ideal territory to develop at best all its organoleptic characteristics; here masterfully interpreted by Illuminati, historic Teramano winery. Its maturation cycle is very long, in fact it is harvested around the first decade of October, and after a careful selection the must undergoes a long maceration in contact with the skins, and then refines for a minimum of 10 months in Slavonian oak barrels and, finally, a further 3-4 months in the bottle, before being put on the market. The result? How to describe it... We tasted it and below we bring to you our tasting notes ... Judge for yourself!
Very intense ruby red with purple reflections. The nose releases sweet aromas of ripe cherry and red fruit jam, hand in hand with sensations of undergrowth, wet earth and dry leaves, along with hints of sweet spices such as cloves, cinnamon and vanilla. The taste is full, soft and round, perfectly balanced between structure and sweetness, with a smooth but present tannin texture that accompanies a final of spicy returns of great finesse, for a result that touches the aromaticity.
It goes well with roasts, braised meats, red meats, game and noble poultry or semi-mature cheeses, but it reaches perfection reaches with goat and lamb.
