Thinking of Banfi, immediately the thought goes to Tuscany and its Brunello di Montalcino but perhaps not everyone knows that this famous winery extends its properties to Piedmont. It all began in the late seventies when, immediately after creating Banfi in Montalcino, Henry and John Mariani acquired the historic Bruzzone winery. Located between Acqui and Novi Ligure; here they directed the production up quality bubbles, pre-defining a marriage of love between the sparkling process and the autochthonous grapes. From the union of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc comes the Tener Brut, an intriguing sparkling wine produced with the Charmat method that reflects the entire Piedmont area in its aromatic and structural outfit.
Straw in colour with delicate and persistent perlage, the nose offers clear tones of apple, citrus, sugared almonds and white flowers. Vibrating in tasting, with a nice acid-mineral support and citrus persistence.
Fabulous to match to a shrimp and zucchini tempura, to rustic vegetable pies, to a seafood risotto and to medium-aged cheeses.
