Montepulciano is nestled in the splendid frame outlined by cypress trees placed on the hills between the Val d'Orcia and the Valdichiana, where the landscape is made even more pleasant by the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards. In this place the grounds are rich in sands and clays with fossils, almost to remind us that once the sea arrived here and the exposure of the rows is to the east, so that the Prugnolo Gentile (variety of Sangiovese) coming to ideal maturation, can give us a unique, complex and structured wine with its own specific character: the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
Ruby red with garnet nuances, it opens to the nose with ethereal notes of marasca, blackcurrant and plum, pink pepper and liquorice, mint and vanilla. On the palate it is structured, initially warm but well balanced by acidity and sapidity, it has well-present but non-invasive tannins and a long almond trail.
We can combine it, without hesitation, with roast meat, braised meat and the classic grilled rib.
