On the hill of Montalcino, on the southern side, there are the almost three thousand hectares of Castello Banfi, a third of which are cultivated with vineyards. Of the vines cultivated there, the Sangiovese grosso is the most important and the most territorial, so much so that in 1982 the study of clonal selection began with the collaboration of Prof. Attilio Scienza and the University of Milan. It is from these grapes that Brunello di Montalcino Castello Banfi is born, one of the symbols of the national wine scene, known and appreciated all over the world. Wine deeply linked to its territory, reflecting its virtues, austere and aristocratic.
Brilliant ruby with garnet nuances. Typical and territorial: it has a bouquet of dark spices, aromas of wild fruit, rhubarb, tobacco and black pepper surrounded by floral notes. Valid structure and tapered tannic mass. It ages two years in French oak barrels of various sizes and ages a year in bottles. It has a remarkable capacity for aging.
Perfect on roast or braised meats but also with aged cheeses such as fossa
