Il Malandrino is a wine that can be considered revolutionary, as it marks a decisive detachment from a past in which the aging in wood was an almost obligatory passage. So, from old cement cisterns carefully preserved and recovered, this Montepulciano was born, recognized with organic certification, of which Cataldi Madonna wanted to rediscover the ancient charm, declining it in a modern key and expressing all the elegance of the territory of Ofena.
Intense ruby mantle, dark, with light purple reflections. It enters the nose with intense fruit aromas evoking crisp cherry, typical berries of the undergrowth such as blackberries, currants, raspberries. The floral sensations of the cyclamen and peony are decisive, followed by spices and herbaceous tones. On the palate it is well-bodied, elegant, characterized by an alcoholic component that is not intrusive and a vivid tannin that leaves you with a pleasant freshness. A long finish that brings to the nose a pleasant trail of berries.
It is a wine for all meals, perfect to accompany cold cuts and dishes rich in meat, risotto with porcini mushrooms and aged cheeses.
